Conscientious objection to military service in Greece. Procedural guarantees in the examination of the request for alternative civilian service.

Art. 9 ECHR 

The request for alternative civil service to military service must be examined in light of the procedural guarantees of impartiality and independence of the members of the competent commission. 
(The registration as conscientious objector and the subsequent request to perform the alternative civilian service had been examined by a commission made up of military personnel only. The Court found a violation of Art. 9 ECHR).
