Ruling

Only a conflict between a person’s conscience or his or her deeply and genuinely held religious or ethical beliefs falls within the scope of Art. 9 ECHR, in respect of conscientious objection. 
(In the instant case, the applicant maintained that he had not completed his military service owing to his poor financial situation and his mother’s illness).
